AS Papagou BC @ wiki

AS Papagou BC or Papagos Athens BC, commonly known as Papagou BC, is a Greek professional basketball club, founded in the year 1966. The team is located in Papagou, Greece, which is a suburb of the city of Athens. The team's home arena is EAK Papagou, located approximately two miles away from downtown Athens.
History
Papagou was promoted into the major Greek basketball division in 1991. The team spent seven seasons there in the 90's and had great success in the 1996-97 season, and especially in the 1997-98 season by beating Peristeri in the first round of the play-offs for the first time and losing to PAOK in the second round. Led in that era by the great scorers Alphonso Ford and Georgios Diamantopoulos, they finished 7th in the Greek League and gained a qualification to the next season's Korać Cup competition. They would make one more appearance in that European competition during the 1998-99 season.
More recently, the Papagou basketball team struggled to hold onto its position in the top league in Greece, the first division, the Greek A1 League. In 1999, the team competed in the A1 first division for the last time in recent years.
